Canon Locking Dial

Also in the new recently is that Canon are offering the locking dial from the EOS 60D for the EOS 7D and EOS 5D-MkII for a small fee of $100. The European/UK price has not been mentioned at the moment.

More information can be found here for the 7D (UK Site) or here for the 5D MkII (UK Site)

I’m in two minds about this, I feel that the charge (which will probably be around £100) is quite reasonable for the addition. However, I cannot ever remember ever taking one of my 7D’s out of the camera bag where the mode dial wasn’t where I left it! I have more of a problem of leaving it on of the wrong Cn settings (C1 ,C2 or C3) for the picture I’m taking.

I guess that for some people this might be a problem so they may be interested.

What this measn is that all Canon models from now on (with mode dials) will have a locking function. Roll on the 7D-MkII and 5D-MkIII 🙂
