Last week Lexar announced a USB3 UDMA Dual (Compact flash and SD) card reader. Although I use Sandisk media, I use the USB2 versions of this reader to download images from my cameras. It is a solid and reliable card reader but can take a while to transfer the image when I fill the 16GB cards.
Whilst my current computer does not have USB3, I don’t expect it will be long before I have this capability as all new computers (with one exception) are supporting this faster transfer speed. Unlike another new connection type which needs to be directly connected to motherboards; USB3 can also be added to (most) computers too.
