Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw Update (4.2)

Adobe have now released updates to Lightroom (4.2) and Adobe Camera Raw used by Photoshop CS6 (v7.2)

I blogged about the Release Candidate (RC) versions of Camera Raw and Lightroom back in late August when they were released. At that time the RC had support for the for the following cameras:

  • Canon EOS 650D / Rebel T4i
  • Canon EOS M
  • Fuji FinePix F800EXR
  • Leaf Credo 40
  • Leaf Credo 60
  • Nikon 1 J2
  • Panasonic DMC-FZ200
  • Panasonic DMC-G5
  • Panasonic DMC-LX7
  • Pentax K-30
  • Sony DSC-RX100

Adobe have been busy because in addition to the cameras in the RC versions they have added the following additional cameras too:

  • Fujifilm XF1
  • Fujifilm X-E1
  • Leica S
  • Leica D-LUX 6
  • Leica V-LUX 4
  • Nikon Coolpix P7700
  • Samsung EX2F
  • Sony Alpha NEX-5R
  • Sony Alpha NEX-6
  • Sony Alpha SLT-A99V

So my RX-100 gains full official support and if I purchase a NEX-6 later in the year (when it becomes available) it will have support from day one. The only missing cameras in the above list that I can see are the Sony RX-1 (which to be fair is still many months away from release), the Nikon D600 (which is available now) and the Canon EOS D6.

The download link for the Windows version of Lightroom 4.2 is here.
The download link for the Macintosh version of Lightroom 4.2 is here.

The Photoshop Camera Raw 7.2 updates are not listed on Adobe’s site as they expect you to initiate the update using the update feature within Photoshop (and/or Photoshop Elements). Thanks go to Sony Alpha Rumors for the information.
